Resettlement PROGRAMME

Pastoral/Spiritual Programme

The Centre’s social work is provided through the motivation of Christian compassion and social moral responsibility. The Salvation Army is first and foremost a church and places an important emphasis on supporting service users and staff with pastoral care and/or spiritual issues.

We see spiritual care first and foremost about building relationships, providing the opportunity of getting to know each other through listening, chatting and sharing experiences. We understand that our community also includes those of other faiths and values.

A pastoral care service is available to all staff and service users regardless of faith/background. An optional spiritual emphasis is placed where requested and appropriate.

The programme includes:

  • Individual visits to service users
  • Dedicated prayer sessions for staff and service users who want to attend.
  • A Café Church, which is very much, what it says; like in any other café people are free to come and choose what they want from a selection of area’s in the room. We have a craft area, contemplative/prayer area, coffee & cake area, and in the centre of the room a conversation area.
